Junior/Senior Division
The Junior/Senior Division (middle/high school) fair is competitive. Students enter their projects in one of 20 science categories. Judges with expertise in a specific field work in teams with 3-5 members, interview their assigned students and build consensus on identifying winners.
A judging session typically lasts four hours. Projects are assigned and judges can preview documentation prior to judging day. Orientations are offered in the weeks leading up to the fair.
Jr/Sr Qualifications
Junior Division: Undergraduate (3rd year and above) and graduate students, as well as professionals with either a degree or 3 years of experience in the applicable science category.
Senior Division: Graduate students, professionals with either a degree or 5 years of experience in the applicable science category.
Elementary Division
The Elementary Division is not competitive. Each project is judged on its own merit by one judge and receives either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place ribbon, based on their understanding of the project.
A judging session typically lasts two hours. Orientations are offered in the weeks leading up to the fair.
Elem Qualifications
Adults with a good general education and the ability to talk to young children.

Every Judge is required to sign a code of conduct form. Please download the Code of Conduct form, sign it, and submit during registration in STEM Wizard.
