Inspire the Next Generation of Scientists

Each year, the Greater Austin Regional Science and Engineering Fair brings together students from 55 school districts and 14 counties across Central Texas. More than 3,500 students in grades 3–12 present their projects, share discoveries, and celebrate STEM learning. The fair also features Exploring Science which includes hands-on exhibits and scientific demonstrations that spark curiosity and excitement for science in our community.

Volunteer Opportunities

We’re looking for about 250 volunteers to help with:

• Registration and check‑in
• Parking and project setup
• Judging support and logistics

Most shifts last 4–5 hours, and many volunteers choose to help at more than one time slot.

Who Can Volunteer

Anyone with a positive attitude and a willingness to help can volunteer! Whether you’re a teacher, parent, student, or community member, there’s a role for you at GARSEF.

Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with students, young adults, and parents, and bring patience and the ability to smile—even when your feet get tired! You’ll help guests feel welcome, assist with setup and logistics, and support participants as they share their projects.

Training and guidance are provided, so you’ll always know what to do. You’ll leave inspired by the creativity and excitement of the next generation of scientists.
